Jarvis Solar Farm

Capacity: 2.5 MW (AC) ground-mounted solar PV
Connection (indicative): Jarvis TS — Feeder M4 (27.6 kV)

Project Overview
Integrative Project Solutions (IPS) proposes to construct a solar project in your community. The Jarvis Solar Park (the Project) will be situated in the North-East sector of the town.  A large portion of the Project will be constructed on a former railway right-of-way, and solar power generation will offer a productive use of such a brownfield area that would otherwise have limited developmental potential.

Glare & Noise
Jarvis Solar Farm utilizes dark, anti-reflective, fixed-tilt (~25°) PV modules designed to absorb sunlight; near-normal reflectance is typically around 1–2%, which is less than that of standard window glass. If requested by the municipality or road authority, the Proponent will complete a Sandia/ForgeSolar glare assessment to verify that there is no hazard to road users or aviation. Solar panels are silent; minor daytime sounds from inverters/transformers are situated inside the array behind a 7-ft fence and will be engineered to comply with Ontario MECP NPC-300 limits at nearby homes. Once fenced and gated, the project lands will no longer be accessible for informal off-road use, so any on-site “biker” noise is expected to cease.

What it powers
≈ 400 homes per year
(Estimated range 390–440 homes, based on a 16–18% Ontario solar capacity factor and the Ontario Energy Board’s typical household use of ~750 kWh/month ≈ , 9,000 kWh/year.)

Community benefits

  • Local jobs & procurement: Hundreds of construction jobs; long-term O&M roles, with priority for local contractors & suppliers

  • Clean, non-emitting energy: Made in Jarvis; supports Ontario reliability & decarbonization goals

  • Stable revenues: 25+ years of property-tax contributions & local purchasing

  • Grid-friendly design: Modern protections/controls aligned with Hydro One and IESO standards
