Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) now operates a provincial Clean Energy Credit (CEC) Registry that certifies one CEC for every megawatt-hour of verified renewable or other non-emitting generation. The program—housed on the M-RETS tracking platform—lets buyers retire credits to document the clean-power content of their electricity and advance corporate ESG objectives. Participation is voluntary and open to any organization that wants transparent, third-party assurance of its greenhouse-gas reductions.

Integrative Project Solutions is registering a pipeline of 40–50 MW of new solar farms with the IESO’s registry and expects first credits to be available for sale in 2026. Because the credits are created and retired entirely within Ontario’s grid, purchasers can claim province-specific emissions benefits while supporting additional local renewable capacity.
